For those of you who know me, you know that I'm currently a student at Texas A&M University (Animal Science Major, Class of 2012) and it is from the daily interactions here that much of my inspiration for University Drive comes from. This semester will be my last as an undergraduate (I'm graduating a year early). In the three years I have been in college, I have developed a set of rules for when I schedule my classes for the next semester. To help future generations of college/university students, I would like to share them and my reasons for having them (interesting side note, I was forced to break almost every single one this semester).
Rule 1- Never have a class that starts before 9am
Why is this? - You'll be dead to the world before this hour; some of us need to extend that rule to before 10.
Rule 2- Never have a class that runs after 6pm
Why is this? - By this time, you will only be thinking about dinner and/or sleep. True, some of us think that all day, but it is worst after 6.
Rule 3- Never have a lab scheduled for a Monday or a Tuesday
Why is this? - Monday/Tuesday Lab = No Weekend. I like my weekends.
Rule 4- Mix classes of both your major and the other required stuff
Why is this? - I don't know about you, but I absolutly LOVE my major. I love the profs, the TA's, the clubs, the building, EVERYTHING. Unfortunantly, the university says I have to take more than just stuff in my major... like English... and Organic Chemistry. Always have at least one class in your major to look forward to in the week or you will become a mean, wreched shell of a person.
